Note from Marelyn Giles, founder of Marelyn’s Christian Wear

 

MCW was created because of my passion for sewing. Sewing is founded out of making clothes for your loved one and for yourself. My creativity developed from within and I wanted to be different from the same plain ‘ole’ shirt and pants that is made to fit the same body type.

There are many body types and I recognized that personally when I was younger when I put on size 14/16 clothing and they would sag and be fitted in particular areas. At the age of thirteen, I began to sized and sew the pattern to my body type.

50 years later, I sew and create for my clients to suit their desires. I also sew for those who are less fortunate who can’t afford a personal touch to their wardrobe.

I love to see a woman, man or child get excited about wearing clothing that enhances them personally. I built MCW’s foundation off of a story out of the bible. It regards a seamstress whose name was Dorcas who performed many good deeds from her sewing; sewing for the rich and giving to the poor.
